BENNY NEMEROFSKY RAMSAY

is a Montréal-born artist and diarist.

Since 1999, his video, sound and print works have considered the singing voice and the history of song, the rendering of love into language, and the impact of popular culture on emotional identity. His use of irony, unexpected musicological intersections and raw emotion invites audiences to reflect on the media we ingest and the concepts of love to which we attach ourselves.

Nemerofsky Ramsay’s work has exhibited in diverse contexts across Canada, Europe and East Asia and has won prizes at festivals in Germany, Poland and Portugal. His work is part of numerous private collections as well as the collection of the National Gallery of Canada.
